Home made game inspired movies - A commo thing?

I wonder how many home made game inspired movies there are out there. I and some other students at my university created a 3d shooter inspired "real life" movie with home made special effects in it four years ago. I wonder if this is a common thing happening out there or what.

Haha, that's really nice for a student project.

Only the music is way off for my taste.

I wonder if someone else has done something like this. With the computer generated weapons, it would be great to share thought and experiences on the topic. How did you solve the tracking, lighting problems and so on. We're thinking about doing a new movie and would really like to get a few tips here and there.

I saw a Blade movie made by students but it wasnt like first person view, just a a short self made movie.
