I hope that's not true, DX10 probably won't be out for a while yet anyway.

I've heard that they're making a new DX9 version (DX9L? I'm not totally sure) before DX10 so people with pre DX10 cards can play the games. Games will be developed in both DX9L and DX10, so the word on the street is anyway chump.

It seems quite probable, as why would games developers wish to eliminate a large proportion of its consumer base?

So that developers do not need to worry bout the hassle on other low end video cards and optimizing for them.

this year when vista comes out. Crysis is going to be the first game to be out using it in the last quarter of 2006.
