Anyone knows what did they release exactly? Just part of the code or what? I think it's pretty early to leave such a game to competitors...

I've had a brief look at it and it's a part of the singleplayer and the multiplayer code, in C (no, not c++ for some reason).

The code has been released for people who make mods and includes stuff like bot ai, main events, user interface etc etc. Well worth the download if you're mildly into that stuff.
