Devastation SP Demo !!!!

I have just purchaced the PC ACTION German mag just to play the SP Demo of Devastation that was included on the cover cd.

The weapons sounds sux, The AL isnt that smart, This isnt Soldire of fortune 2 this is just another shooter....
The only plus in this game is the Graphics.

AVERAGE GAME, Period.

Most of the previews were positive, i only read 2-3 negative one's, mainly like you pointed, out the bad sound and AI.

The thing is, previews aren't supposed to be negative and have much criticism at all; reviews are. I could've told you the game was mediocre long ago, but I guess now you'll all have a chance to find that out for yourselves

Can someone say somthing posertive about this game

as these reveiws influence my gaming experience becuase now i will realise how crappy the weopons sounds are BUT HEY! there will hopefully be a weopon sound mod some-time soon

The thing is, Self funded developpers are the only ones that can develope AAA titles, Like Id soft., 3DREALMS, VALVE, ...

Do you realize that two of the three companies you mentioned have not released a AAA game in YEARS? And did you also realize that the third company(Id) make almost ALL their money from licensing their engines, NOT the sale of their games?

If you're going to list examples of self-funded developers, try not to pick the WORST examples imaginable. Unless that was your intent.

Good games needs time, DUKE NUKEM FOREVER and DOOM3 arent AAA TITLES!!!, common if ID and 3DREALMS are the worst examples what would Â*you say about other developpers.

Perhaps they're not the worst examples, but they certainly don't have proven track records when it comes to releasing quality games(that goes TRIPLE for Valve). Good games may take time, but when it exceeds a certain limit you begin to wonder what's taking so long. How many levels will DNF feature? 80? 100? It better, because other titles like AvP2, NOLF2 and MOH:AA featured the standard amount of levels, and those were quality games, and ALL of them were announced AND released long after DNF began development. Id Software hasn't released a good game since Doom, and Doom largely floats because of nostalgia. No one questions their ability to develop kick ass engines. It's just a bit sad that other devs like Raven are required to show us just what those engines are capable of doing. Â If i keep this up i'll have to enlist in Bucky's Thread Hijackers Club.
