I hope they won't n00bifie it. For that you can go play ToCa Racing or somethin like that.
GTRs strong point is the killer simulation and hopefull they will make it better and more realistic

Well they are releasing GTR1 for the 360 next year, with all the cars and tracks they've made so far. So it looks like they're really trying hard to reach a broader audience, without sacrificing the uncompromising sim side of things.

Found the high def trailer last night. For some reason the trailer makes the game look much better than it will be! :P

There's probably a lot of pressure for Simbin to noobify though.. GTR had an arcade mode which was easier to drive, which was actually quite fun. GTL had that console-like unlock system for the cars, but the sim community hated that. So in GTR2 now you get all the cars and tracks, but you unlock specific championships instead. I dunno if that means the 24 hour races will be locked to start with or not...

And also GTR2 has a driving school feature which teaches you basic stuff about racing line and controlling over/under-steer etc. But it probably won't teach you about the ins and outs of car setup heh.

I wonder how they wanna put in all the buttons you need like starter and pit lane speed button thingy on a console pad.
Well, there is only one real platform for a real sim (no, Gran Tourismo is far from being a real sim) and that's the PC baby

Didn't really want to make a new thread for this but...

Autosimsport's online mag has a pretty insightful article, interviewing Ian Bell, head of Blimey Games (formerly part of SimBin), about GTR2 with a bunch of screens, some background behind GTR, and some hype about their next apparently revolutionary race-sim codenamed Falcon. I thought it was pretty interesting, and it's 11 pages(!) so check it out.

http://www.autosimsport.net/

Falcon won't be out for another 2 years, but he wants us to think it'll be the best sim ever made! Being multi-platform probably won't help though. I'm not sure what to expect from Blimey/SimBin after GTR2 is out actually, especially since SimBin without most of their original talent, will probably start pumping out multi-platform yearly sequels based on their FIA license too.
