More GTR2

A guy at Digital Displacement got a hold of a beta copy of GTR2 recently, and kindly put up some fairly detailed coverage this week. There's a bunch of screens, and a video of the M3 GTR doing a lap of Hockenheim. Worth checking out if you're anticipating this game like I am. It's looking good to me, but still bear in mind it's just a beta.

sweet, I wanna try the 24 hour realtime racing with my friends. hrhrhr....8 hours a person ist a long time on the comp...
Imagin you're in the lead and it's the last round...final corner...BSoD...

PS: the game suppose to have unique weather system whereafter the rain the spots in the shadows dries slower than the ones in the sun. can't wait to get my hands on that one.

Someone did ask about condensing an online 24 hour race into 4 hours or something. That'd be cool, although I'd probably never end up actually taking part in one.

well, if you got enough peope yu can always race each 1 hour or so...I used to play the game LE MANS on Dreamcast that had real 24 hours race in it. man, good times.
I just wonder how the AI will be...i hate those Gran Turismo perfect line racers. Well, definitly on my list of games to get

Nice stuff except it was a BMW. Doesn't matter if it's a car or a motorcycle, I hate BMW. The reviewer shoulda tried treating the car more irresponsibly so that we woulda seen how the physics behave.

Yea some people have asked for that kinda stuff for the later vids, like trying some power slides etc. GTR was really unforgiving, but GTL's 'old' cars were great. So it'd be interesting to see how the newest version of the physics engine handles modern GT cars.

I have a question about that TrackIR thingy. Where dyu put the reflective dot, dyu just stick it on your forehead or dyu have to wear the funny cap they bundle with it? :Oo:

I got the reflector on the mic of my headset and it works fine. IR is the only way to play simulations like IL2 or GTR

Unfortunately, I think the car rosters will be from 2003/04 FIA seasons though for GTR2, so no Gallardo GT3. It'll also mean no Aston Martin DBR9 either which debuted at Silverstone 2005 (I was there to see that.. both cars in the team came 1st and 2nd, heh. )

Really looking forward to trying the Masserati MC12 though! :P

is gtr 2 going to be noob friendly? Im considering looking into it when it nears release.
