I made some comparison screenshots between some pictures I found on a tourist website and some Crysis screenshots. Check these out:

I see some dodgy photoshopping on a couple of them, in particular the last image with the shack. The trees are photo-realistic and bare no resemblence to the E3 video and also the grass infront of the shack is added in photoshop. Anyone with a keen interest in Photoshop can spot a cut, smudge or brushed blur! Just look at the right-hand side of the image and see how the grass has been placed on top of the shadow of the bush!.... hmmm well dodgy! Also the grass is not rendered in the same scene as the shack as the radiosity is all wrong for starters!

The other thing to look at is how cryengine2 renders waterFX. Its a pixel shader, but for some unknown reason the image above the shack clearly shows it as a photo-realistic seascape so is clearly false! Also look at the clouds... If you know anything about the cryengine2 you really should know how advanced its cloud renderer is... it doesn't place bloody JPEGS in a skybox like those screenshots!

I wouldn't be at all surprised if alot of those images are not in-game renders at all and have been pre-rendered in something else.

I'm not sure what you're exactly trying to imply with that comment, but I don't like it's tone. Three of the screenshots are found here: http://www.brasil.ea.com/mediazone/screens...enshots/8494/0/ ... #22, #28, and #34

I'm not exactly sure where I got the last one, but the same shack is seen in images 38 and 41. In those pictures the trees look just as good and the grass looks even better.

I've seen those shots before, on Tom's hardware or something. They're impressive, but not photorealistic IMO. An inspiring progression in the game graphics world nonetheless.

There are similar shots around, but I put these together last night in Photoshop.
