How can I find files dated older than 15 days? As I've seen now in your patches section, the list contains files from 20/7. I haven't logged in your site for a month and I might have lost some new patches. ;)

I know that they are all kept in DB, that's why I'm using these links:
http://www.gamershell.com/download_patch.shtml
http://www.gamershell.com/download_demo.shtml

But every new file has indicator for only a week. You could put some dark indicators for files that are brand new for a second week.

Now, I'm talking about this link:
http://www.gamershell.com/download_index.shtml

I can only see files from 20th of July and on. How should I use the search option when I have about 100 games in my PC? Should i try to search for every game that I have? This will take hours! Fix the index section so that it displays downloads of the previous month or even better the previous 2-3 months

100 games? Damn! Your hdd must be massive. I really dont know what to tell ya here. Searching for patches will bring up every patch we have. And really why would you want patched that are older than three months old anyway, unless they dont support the game anymore or there have not been any recently. In which case you are more that likely going to have to search by game.

Well, first I play games that are more than 5 years old and most companies don't support them too ofter.
Second, why should I search for every game? Or wait until you post the next patch release? What if a company releases a game's final patch these days? (ex. in the first 20 days of July) Will I lose this patch? Yeap. Unless I type all the games that I play to check them.

It's not hard for you to extend the dates of previous demos & patches. It's just a few lines of code. It doesn't cost anything for you, but it saves our time.

So you would like us to extend the search because you play games that are five years or better older and havent kept up with them til now? It seems to me that this is your problem not ours! Newer patches always have to stay in the front. I can understand your frustration but, there are limits.

My suggestion to you would be to patch your games as the patches come out, not bitch at us cause you dont feel like finding every patch you need in one search!

X-fire lists all of your games and automaticly downloads patches for them. Sure they are not as fast as the GH servers but it should save you countless hours of searching.

That's not the problem. The problem is that I went on vacation, came back these days and only found files from half July and on.

Leave the oldies and their patches. I'm not talking about patches only (and I did ask you "What if a company releases a game's final patch these days? (ex. in the first 20 days of July) Will I lose this patch?" but you didn't answer on that).

I'm talking for more important categories like ex. Demos. How can I find New Demos for the last 40 days If I haven't logged in your website for these 40 days? Should I "guess" all the new demos that companies will release? I don't think so.

And as I said before It doesn't cost you anything to put additional lines in sort by date function. I have your site in my favorites for about 2 years and I haven't figured out why you didn't have this option from the first time. Either you admit it or not, the main reason that users come to your website (and most clicks in your site) are for demos, patches, movies etc. Don't try to force users to log in every day to see the new patches. Make their life easier and they will support you more.

First and foremost, we do not require any logon at all! So that part of your argument is null. People that visit here are allowed to download, browse, and join the forums without ever having to login to anything and we are very proud of that fact.

That being said, we are not perfect. We are trying to improve the site everyday. It will get better and I hope that your request will be in consideration. I wish I could help you more but, I am not the owner or a coder. I can not tell you every aspect of GH. I know a lot of it but, not all.

Trust me, I would love to make this easier for you. Unfortuanately. it is not me that has the say in what happens to the homepage. Not to mention, I am not a coder and have no idea where to begin for such a transformation.

For the time being, all I can tell you is to search the db for what you need until we can make it better. Make no mistake though, we do not force login/registration like other sites do.
