It's big and it's violently making love to our mirrors.

But is it any good?

Well, dunno what to say. Experiencing MAJOR stuttering issues... but when it doesn't stutter, its friggin awesome. like the daggers, so darn cool. wooshswishshoof...

note: stuttering dissapeared after setting AA and AF + HDR off... but it came back hapily when i died once...

Actually I came to an opposite conclusion... to a degree.

I like the environs and the mechanisms of melee combat; the magic system was okay, though I get the impression the experience favours & strongly encourages a healthy degree of sword skill development (which is not necessarily bad) despite what character-class hype might claim; the graphics are sophisticated and the audio seems good. It does need optimizing, but of course the developers admitted that.

.

That said, I played through this 1.6 Gig of demo in about 20 minutes.

I am left wondering if that was a worthwhile download.

Impressive game, but i just finished the demo in about 15-20 minutes, quite a disappointment after about 3 h of downloading it :-(. As for performance - everything maxed out (6xAA, full AF, HDR on, full shadows and reflections) and no issues on my rig (Athlon XP 2500+ , 1 gig Ram, X850 Xt PE).

I´ll defintely give the retail a go, but the lenght of thet demo is an insult, compared to its size!
They could´ve taken another level for the demonstration process, actually one which doesn´t feature a boss. In this way the would´ve granted us a little bit more fun... :P

yes its indeed waaay too short...

my download was just 30 min, teehee!

but then again, they should've given us the satisfaction of killing the cyclops...

just to make sure my demo isn't corrupted (stuttering still there :S):

is the options menu supposed to be transparent? it has like a pretty... 'unfinished' look.

I have made a Cyclops save game for the DM demo which if anyone wants it can be downloaded from here:
http://www.sourcegaming.net/darkmessiah/Da...op_Savegame.rar
(It picks up right where the demo ends if you play normally)

A screenie:

Also if you want all the weapons/spells do this:
1. Make a shortcut, right click on it and go to properties:
2. Then in the traget field (right after all the stuff) paste this in

-dev -console +sv_cheats 1 +map e3_l06_l09 +bind n "noclip" +bind [ "impulse 101"

and click ok.
3. Run the game and use all the new spells!

And a screenie for those who don't know how to do that:
