I`m finding it difficult to play the Tau as I might other factions... perhaps they share something in common with Imperial Guard and Eldar, yet to a greater degree, in that (thus far) they require a good deal of management to be effective.
I enjoyed the demo considerably, but I don`t feel after playing it that I really have a grasp of Tau rhythm. Using Tau stealth units for scouting out the missile battery targets seems logical, but combined with Kroot, Kroot Hounds, and Battlesuits I just didn`t come to terms with their style. I know having access to the full array of units would help. At this time my assessment of the faction would be fun yet demanding - a player operating in a large battlefield fielding large armies needs to handle a fair amount of management to properly utilize Tau assets (i.e. jumps, abilities, retreats). I definitely like them, but I don`t know if down at the nitty-gritty level of play they`ll suit me. Or I just need practice. (rambling gaming thoughts) |
