The return of old games

My first editorial, be nice to me guys

I think most of you guys have noticed the return of older games.
Retro games are getting more replayed days by days, is this a new trend or is it something else?
Ofcourse retro games have always been fun and are always being played, but there is an outrage of it all of a sudden!
Should we be scared that people want to play this pixely games? HELL NO, in fact i think people should play older games more!
These games show how good graphics doesnt make a good game!

Of course you may think, why trade in our Pixel Shader 3 games with vertex mapping and all the blabla attached to it?
It's simple, a game is a game, you play it because its fun to play, not because you want to see eyecandy!

If you still are relying to the new graphic games or to World of Warcraft, STOP!
Take out your old console from the dusty closet (or buy one) and take some time to see why gameplay makes the game!
The people these days are being fooled by deadline rushed moviegames not made from heart but from the smell of money.
It's already hard to see what game is good and what game really sucks ass.
Where developers once have been fair in what the game would be, developers now are saying things about the game that at the end
don't even reach the store. You get fooled when you notice it's not in it, it's hard to trust anyone in buying games.
Is this good.

Time to go back in time where games are how they have to be, and not reigned by the smell of money!
Where mario jumps and not glitches in the ground, Where in Final Fantasy and Chronotrigger you can actually win instead of
seeing the game hang in the middle of a fiersome battle. Where there was still fun and original gameplay, good storylines,
and ofcourse no excessive game addiction to the point where you lose everything.

It is well known that people are getting much more busier, that means that people don't have alot of time for games anymore.
As the lot of you may know lots of new games take in alot of money, it would be a hard bet to play these games all the time
as there are priority's. Should we cry because we can hardly play any games? I don't think so!
Get the duster and clean your old box o' fun, it's time to play a little game of Excite bike before going to work, to get
the relaxation for a good day. Done with work and stressed? Time for a buttonbash fest on Streetfighter, or to shoot some crazy baddies on DOOM!
Then get a good night sleep instead of playing World of Warcraft all night!

Normally you could be bored or stressed in either the bus, train or plane because of missing a raid, no one want's that!
That's why lots of old games are getting remade on mobiles, gameboy advance, Nintendo DS, PSP!
You'll never get bored again, and you'll never stress about a raid again.
Games aren't made for stress, they are made for fun, so please have fun when playing a game!

Oh and parents, when your kids are playing retro games you won't have to watch them anymore for violence!
Your kids won't get a feeling to jump and buttstomp on their friend's head when they just played Mario!
That's one care less!

I know you can be picky on choosing games, but you just can't go wrong with these games,
The games are good quality and have always been good quality!
And you can always replay them as they are so fun!

As these new consoles try to take you on their "impressive specs" old ones do it for what they are all about, GAMES AND FUN!

P.S This article is to show that you have to try these games sometime if you haven't, this doesn't mean you have to sell your pc and console and be a retro only guy.
I am by no means an excessive retro fanboy, i play newer pc games too and i own my xbox.

People don't play retro games because they feel and play like an old game. People want innovation and new technology because it creates a more immersive experience that is fun to play. Have you ever tried playing goldeneye recently? That game is a lot less fun than it was years ago. I would much rather play new games.

Why are you promoting the Wii?
If I want to play retro games, ill get an emulator and roms for my PSP.

The Wii will have classic games available. Old Sega, N, Turbografix 16 games and more! This is a good thing for older gamers such as myself.

I have nothing against the PSP! It just did not have anything that I wanted as a gamer. I have the DS instead. The Wii gives me a new gaming experience, cheap, and the option to play the games I grew up with. To me, that is relevant to the topic.

Yep I agree, which is the main reason I'm buying a Wii on release.

The GC did fail! Not because it didnt out sell the other two, but because it did not, and still doesnt, have the games to back it up. Sure, it has a few. Mario, Eternal Darkness(sweeeet game), Mario cart, RE4, just to name a few. The GC just could not keep up with the ps2 and the xbox. This time, however, I think they got it right.

This gen should be a whole new ball game and who knows who will win. All I know is that I have a 360, I want the Wii, and I refuse to pay $600 for a console(or puter as Sony wants to call it)

The only reason I'm staying away from the Wii is the games, again it probably will lack 3rd Party support or the games might be not that great. The controller is nice, but when you don't have games to back it up, it fails. See if MGs4, Assassins Creed, and all those great games were on the Wii, then it would be another story, but they aren't so I have a sense of "lets not touch this one".
To me the price is not the deciding factor, when I realized that I could program some stuff to PS3 (or at least I might) and when I realized that I don't need to upgrade it and use it as my secondary computer/entertainment system, the price seemed not as bad.
