"You gotta read a little closer sometimes."

That is exactly what you should do! Why do you think I provided the link!...and if you can't read german use a translator!
The Anti-Vir Companies accuse Microsh*t of keeping them out on purpose, so that MS can sell/bundle their security/anti-vir program with Vista! I guess MS hasn't learned their lesson yet in Europe and wants an other asskicking.

...and my post stands about the fat-cats on the DRM issue. You know damn well who is the main force behind it. Does the name MS ring a bell with you??
I'm not going to put it through a translator or try to read it.

Why?

If your point is that 3rd party programs (i.e. Antivirus: Symantec, McAffee etc.) are blocked from the core operating system of Windows Vista, then you are saying the same thing as me. You are saying the same thing I said.

Now if there is another point in that article that actually contradicts what I said, I suggest you mention that instead of the point you are currently making.

Furthermore, quit the trolling. I don't know where the "...and unlike you, I can back my claim up!!" comment comes from. This is a short thread so far so it should not have been so hard to find the two links I provided in an earlier post (one for CDV and one for Atari) to back up a claim.

As for fat cats, if you think it only affects big companies, fine. I think it affects big and small companies. I would argue that DRM has more of a negative effect on us (Stormregion) than it does on MS. Tell me who could lose $1 Million easier, MS or SR?

Edit: This Darkmoon fella isn't you Gazz, is it? :P

So last night, I caught the last minute of a report on "Click" on BBC and I "think" they were talking about a hacker's conference hosted by MS with regards to Vista. Anyone know anything about this?

I think they will update it to the website tomorrow (Saturday) so if they do, check it out.

Again, I didn't catch enough of it to be certain of the content but I reckon it is a juicy one.

Topic title edited, best of both worlds in my opinion.

You could always create a non work account at home where you have another ipnumber. Having a double account on the same ip (or emailadress) is not allowed and the similar ipnumbers will have you light up like a christmastree to anyone who can see them. The ipthingy right now is just temp and you'll get noticed aterwards.
Saw the title change which answers my question accurately.

As for the dupe accounts, that is always a temptation but I reckon its not too ethical.

Have I showed you guys this yet:

about the hacking and linux, as you might know the linux distro's get updated much better than windows does, also there are good hackers too, the one that give out the vulnerability without abusing it hence for the linux distro devs to fix it, why people abuse it on windows, is because they hate windows, easy as that. so don't think Linux will get overhacked, its windows, think what happens if people got the windows sourcecode :P

Lol, no I am not. Although nobody can be sure about that, due to some server issues everybody in the forums displays the exact same ip number. Let's hope noone is dumb enough to ip-ban someone right now because everyone here would be automaticly banned with them.

Back on topic: the dutch newssite I got the original link from stated it was also for any type of multimedia protection. Looking back I would have been better of posting any of the other provided links that did rant on gamecopy protection but I simply liked the "defectivebydesign" name.

The cp is the most interesting from my point of view and seeing that I am the one posting the topic that's just fine. I could have made the topictitle anti-drm day just because the site I published is most concerned about that, but the whole day is about more then that. It's about CP in general and drm is just another part of it, I don't even have an Ipod so drm doesn't really interest me that much.

I agree with you in general.

But that applies to the everyday do-it-for-the-thrill hackers.

The real criminal element (i.e. identity thieves) won't be so nice nor so biased.

But it is good that it gets updated more often.
