Now i'm thinking, i see the gaming headlines
"f***planet users get a lan button on the bf2142 menu to play offline on a lan"

All these extravagant accommodations to stat. tracking and in-game advertising are making an otherwise promising game a complete NON-PURCHASER...

People don`t want to be advertised at - thats why TV is dying a slow death. If EA wants their game sales to follow suit, please by all means continue to complicate things.

(I have heard such sentiments from others` mouths as well already, despite what they too thought would be a pleasant liesure experience.)

This really boils down to the bad idea of software as a service instead of a product.

the funny thing is...all you peeps are gonna rush out and buy bf2142 when its released, your slaves to EA....bahaha and always will be.

Hey I managed to get it to stop crashing

i havn't bought an ea game in ages.

I tried something and it bore out. (This info copied from an identical post of mine elsewhere... maybe I can help alleviate some suffering...)

I logged in with my registered EA name as usual. I *created* a new profile and the game successfully contacted the master server, letting me through to the game list.

I tried modifying the original profile that no longer works. It hung.

I quit the game and restarted 2142. I used the new profile. No luck - it hung.

I deleted the oldest (original) profile as a precaution.

I conclude that every time I start the game I must create a brand new profile to successfully get through the EA master server.
