Here's the latest news from Codemasters and 1C's latest game, Battlefield Command: WWII RTS

Background


Battlefield Command (BC) is a tactical real time strategy game form the Russian developer 1c and will launch worldwide in spring 2004. It will be available on PC format only.



It is an incredibly detailed game which covers the majority of key battles in Europe from the invasion of Poland and France in 1939-40 through to the war on the Eastern front and the D-Day landings to the fall of Germany in 1945.



Players can choose to either play as Allied or Axis armies chosen from 10 nationalities including American, British, Russian, French and German.

Yeah i agree it looks promising BUT, i'm still waiting to see a game where you can play an RTS combined with an FPS, where you can control your troops and tell them to attack something, then, get into say one of the troops minds and control them Â* , kinda like that old game 'Dungeon Keeper'.

1C is one developer to watch out for; right now they're already THE leading publisher in Russia and they've got lots of good projects in development at all times. I'll be waiting for this one for sure, as I've never seen even ONE WW2 rts made by Russians. Their take on the genre should be interesting, concidering that Russia lost 25 million people in the war and practically every family is familiar with it from past experience.
