Hey everybody,

Does anyone know if gears of war is going to be ported over to the PC? Played it on my mates XBOX and it looks the cats pyjamas!

Also, I think its an outrage that they aint bringing call of duty 3 out for the PC! The game was born on there! :nxs:

Gears of War is going to come to the PC, but it is not coming soon (end of 2007) and that's just too bad
I think Gears of War is more a PC game then an Xbox 360 game, because with Mouse and Keyboard it is going to run a lot smoother!

Even Microsoft is going to say that it is not coming to the PC, you must think again (it's EPIC from Unreal) and it seems a little bit Unreal if the maker of Unreal is not going to bring one of their best games to the PC.

I don't know about you, but 3rd person games don't really work well with mouse and keyboard,

Max payne and Splinter Cell worked better with mouse n kboard than any console.

Gears of War is not confirmed for PC-DVD. Rumours started after a profile within the Nvidia Forceware driver included the Gears.exe file. It has since been discovered that this was the profile used for the development of the program on the PC for the XBox360 version.

I wouldnt be surprised if it does arrive, but dont expect it until 2008, because it required high-end Shader Model 4.0 processing, which isnt quite mainstream yet.

Also, I play thrid person FPS, like Rainbow Six Vegas with the X360 joypad profile. It works a treat, so there is no reason why GoW wouldn't work, as they use the same mechanics. TBH Vegas is awful on the keyboard, it suits the joypad perfectly...

... now I wouldnt of said that before I played Vegas, but it is true.

I don't think so. I think MS has drop a bag of donuts so it will stay exclusive on the 360 for a while. Shader 4 on the othr hand shouldbe on most graca that comes out in the next couple of months. it's be probablyone of the titles that needs vista like Halo2 and such. I just hope the Pc version will be a lil bit longer or mod friendly since the game itself s quiet short.

Kami, Microsoft have 22 months available to release GoW for PC if it arrives in 2008. As for SM4.0, obviously it is out now and will become more popular with AMD's 1st quarter release of their new spec, but it will not be mainstream until the end of the year, if not early 2008.

Oh BTW... I sold that free Dell i got and brought a 8800GTX and 2GB of RAM and gave the missus some money! Result! :P

I know that the 8800 got shader 4 but dunno about any AMD/ATi ones. 1950 is shader 3 only...I think...if i remember correctly.
yep, 2008 sounds realistic. I keep forgetting we got already 2007 and not 1998

I said the new AMD/ATI, the R680 or whatever it is. It is unified architecture ala DX10 specification.
