It's better to defragment it yourself then using weird tools, it has done more bad than good tbh. ;)

Well, I use diskeeper myself, but posted this great working freebie because of it's stability (while it's still a beta) and systemperformance increase. Diskeeper has my preference but I wanted to post a program that you didn't have to buy.
Never had any troubles with these programs, but too bad you did.

I would avoid it. If I was having your problems I would just do
a format and fresh install of Windows. Just back up all your downloads and saved games and such to a CD or DVD. It a minor pain in the ass but you'll be done in a few hours and everything will work like it's new again :-)

If you want a neat lil tool then get TuneUp 2007. it even got a RegDefrag now. but if you want to truely kill your regestry then get Jv16 Power Tool. I love it but I've seen it ripping the regestry to a point where some prgs/games won't work anymore. it does the job alright
