Here are my hopes for news in 2003:
1. Valve goes out of business just as it receives "Most overrated developer in history of gaming" award.
2. 3D Realms admits that DNF doesn't exist, that it was just a hoax designed to fool investors and banks into allowing them funds to continue existing. The ensuing court circus makes Enron look like a minor mistake, and 3D Realms goes out of business.
3. Derek Smart dies. Slowly. Very, very slowly.
4. Stalker released before end of 2003.
5. Counter-Strike declared to be an un-american game, and all people STILL playing the game to be shot on sight with extreme prejudice.
6. Unhackable anti-pirate system devised. Causes machines running pirated software to explode, eliminating all life within 2k.
7. The release date for international Gothic 2 revealed.
8. No more Sims expansion packs. Ever.
9. Any person seeking to blame violence on video games alone to be spanked in public. Hell, to be spanked BY public.
10. Gamer's Hell officially recognized as Ultimate Gaming site. All members elevated to god-like status as result.
