Although the trailer is clearly based off NYC, if you watch, they call it Liberty City. This is not a bad thing as there will be something going on at all times! GTA:SA didnt have that! You had to go through boring crap to get to the good stuff! I reaaaaly doubt this will happen here. Now, granted, we cant go entirely by the trailer as it does not show any gameplay at all! Still, This should be one hell of a game!
I can not wait to get my little hands on this! There is no game that I can think of that can come close to this kind of hype! (Aside from maybe Halo 3 but, we all know that is going to suck) GTA has and always will, define the sandbox game ![]()

The trailer shows a building with 'liberteen' on it... not strictly liberty city. However you are right , it is still 'liberty city' (which basically means their version of New York) of course. I still rate Vice City as the best in the series and this is going to have to do something pretty special to make up for san andreas, at least it won't be based on gangsta rappers and hip hop but something more escapist (like vice city).
I just hope it packs in more detail and doesn't have a too generic feel to the environments (like Crackdown and Saints row have), a problem with large scale games... I would love to see detail levels simliar to Dead Rising but in a sprawling city... probably an unrealistic expectation but that's what all the hype was saying about these next gen games back at E32005 so it's time they started delivering.
