Interesting, gamespy/civ3 again not working, or working really slow, as well as bf2.

Bye,
Skybuck.

The European and Asian servers of BF2 are down, check the EA forums for more info although my info pretty much covered all you needed to know.

My hunch is:

"
Second Internet slowdown likely

Hong Kong (dpa) - Hong Kong internet users were being warned of a slowdown in connections Tuesday, as work and schools resumed after the holiday, putting extra pressure on the network damaged by the Taiwan earthquake last week.

The warning came as the Telecommunications Authority admitted the damage to the undersea cables was more serious than originally thought.

Speaking at a press conference Tuesday, the acting director-general of telecommunications, Y K Ha said it would be some time before full internet services can resume.

"When the ships arrived at the scene for inspection, they found the damages were more much more serious than we thought," he said.

"So we now estimate the time taken to repair and resume normal operations will take much longer."

Asia was plunged into internet chaos Boxing Day when an undersea earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale struck Taiwan's southern coast.

The quake and its aftershocks damaged four of Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom's six undersea cables, cutting off or slowing down the voice, data and internet connections of many Asian countries with India, Europe and the US.

Most networks have resumed service after re-routing connections, although many are still suffering delays during peak times.

Originally, it was estimated the repairs would take up to two weeks. However, it is now believed it will be the end of the month before full service is resumed.

"

I have noticed such a cable break before...

Internet slow downs, websites unreachable, games unplayable.

Yeah... I heard about those earthquakes and noticed the games not working 1 + 1 = 2, I say ;)

Though some kind of confirmation would be nice.

Damn... finding out the internet doesn't work via games sux. There must be a better coordinated way ? gjez man, that sux.

Yeah double sux.

I need my crack everyday ! damn ;)

The good news is: They didn't IP-BAN me LOL. At least I think so lol ;)

Bye,
Skybuck.

The date was missing.

I checked other websites, this seems old news from 27 dec 2006.

However recently some earthquakes have happened.

So who knows.. maybe somewhere else cables damaged...

Also please people take note:

Always add date to your news messages thx ;)

Bye,
Skybuck.

More recent story:

Last Update: Wednesday, March 28, 2007. 10:36am (AEST)

Earthquake jolts central Japan coast

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 has jolted the west coast of central Japan, Japan's Meteorological Agency said.
It struck at 8:08am local time in the Noto peninsula, 300 kilometres west of Tokyo, three days after a powerful earthquake in the same area killed one person, injured over 200 and destroyed hundreds of homes.
No tsunami warning has been issued and there were no immediate reports of fresh injuries or damage.

There have been hundreds of aftershocks since Sunday's quake, which had a magnitude of 6.9.
The focus of Wednesday's tremor was 10 kilometres below ground level on the peninsula.
It was moderately strong on the Japanese intensity scale, which measures ground motion, measuring lower 5 on a scale of 7.
Earthquakes are common in Japan, one of the world's most seismically active areas.
The country accounts for about 20 per cent of the world's earthquakes of magnitude 6 or greater.

Many other earthquakes as well these days, gje.
