the toca race driver review doesnt add any credibility to your reviewing section and i honestly wish it did.

anyone that spent 30 secs of his life trying the game (anyone able to pass that mark?!!??) knows that the game is way way way overrated , even considering diferent personal tastes and just sticking to the facts.

chuckie egg has better car handling than toca

if you are serious about racing games (and even if you arent and just wanna have a blast) there are 2 solutions i can think of now. one free for now, and the other commercial

Life for Speed -> www.liveforspeed.com
Nascar racing 2003 -> www.papy.com (very good with gpl tracks)

Thanks for letting us know. I wish we could validate the correctness of what's written in our reviews before they went online, but that would just delay things too much. We usually trust that whoever wrote an article knows what he's talking about, and that might not be the case this time, which is too bad

But one question, did you use a keyboard to control the car? The reviewer didn't...

no. but doesnt even matter. its so bad that we dont even get to that "deep" level of discussion.

i use a momo force feedback wheel and pedals. very good btw...

any serious racing gamer uses a wheel, or if limited there at least some kind of analogue control (joysticks...mouse...etc)

this is a good rating if were talkin 1/100 range btw.
continue your awesome work in gamershell and stay as independant as u can please. thats what made me look here in the first place a long long time ago

Hrm, seeing that you're a race sim enthusiast, we could sure use one more 'PRO' part-time reviewer to cover that stuff, what do you think?

Problem is that, TOCA is not pure racing simulation, whereas Live for Speed and Nascar are racing simulations. I like racing games but not simulations. So, from my point of view is TOCA game with great visuals, balanced playability and still could be played by normal player - racing games fan. But its certain, that Racing fanatics (no offence please) could be a little disappointed. I agree with reviewer opinion, and review itself consider as objective

hardly my intention to come across as pro
what i wanted was for them to know how to review games and have a background on playing them historywise.
that arcade/sim talk is old and beaten up.
even lotus on amiga is better than toca
and thats arcadish as hell
arcade isnt the prob
the prob is toca
i like poleposition, pitstop2, stuntcarracer, mariokart, revolt etc etc
hardly realistic, but great games.
to rate toca something around 8.5 in 10 is way more insane than rating 8.5 in 100. honest.

i hope u can contain the newbie flames and redirect them to >nil: coz honestly i wasnt here to start any war, more as a warning towards credibility. and the mods replied sensibly.

>nil: old school!

I actually thought that Toca Race Driver was ok, but I've only played it on the xbox. Provided a bit of fun and was easy to get into.

i agree with kidcodea. a bit too much points for a game that has so many faults. a score around 7 would be better imo. for a "arcade" gamer it sure is a nice game with all those fancy gfx and a cool visual damage engine. but for those players who are somewhat after simulation or atleast have an idea how car should handle toca is a huge disappointment. even from their view toca doesn't qualify as a good arcade game.the wheel is ultra sensitive and without adjusting possibilities it's basically impossible to control the car well enough which makes the wheel useless. many people ( "non arcade gamers" ) had high hopes for toca race driver but it can be seen in many forums (check codies own forum) how disappointing result it was.

the review would be better if it would've been looked from both arcade gamers and sim gamers view.

if you see TOCA ads around on the site, you'll know we have been biased, otherwise don't worry

We have a user review section on the forum, feel free to do better, anyway as you can see from the answers/user rating ... a 8/10 is closer to truth than yours 1/10 ... so are you biased?
