Crysis Demo in Sept

Very, cool. I'm extremely excited for this game. Is there a link that confirms this? Or is this common knowledge that I just don't have now?

I just came back from GC and saw the demo there. It looked pretty nice.

Actually we were right next to it (Codename Panzers Cold War) because EA is distributing our game (10tacle is the publisher).

We were also next to Hellsgate London so it was definitely a hot spot.

We have some news to announce.

First, I am sorry for the bad news - the Crysis single player demo will now be available everywhere on October 26th, 2007.
We are taking some extra time to make sure you that you have an amazing experience but also we did not want to risk the release date of Crysis at this stage. To get the game into your hands by November the 16th, we had to make this call.

Now the good news - the big surprise. The SP demo will be released with our CryEngine 2 - Sandbox 2 game editor, giving the community the opportunity to get familiar with the vast amount of tools they will have at their disposal four weeks before we ship, something we have always wanted to do.

This is an exciting time for us at the studio as the development of Crysis comes to an end and we are only a few weeks from Gold Master.

They appreciate my patience. I'm sorry but I don't have any of that to appreciate.
They better hurry up or I'll start comparing them to Duke Nukem. HalfiLife2 kept
getting delayed and I still bad talk them (mainly because of Steam). They need
to get their shit together before it's to late. 1st impressions count a lot. So far mine
isn't very pretty.

I am not really happy about this either! I was looking forward to some Crysis gaming since the beta was at that shithole FP. I was content just to bitch about the beta being paid as the demo was supposed to be out Tuesday but, the delay really pisses me off! Any bets that it is EAs fault??

My biggest fear is that this game will be just a mediocre shooter with great graphics. My guess is the delay is caused by DX 10. This is the first game that will take it to the max and I am sure they will run into some mayor issues from time to time.

I severely doubt DX10 is the cause of the delay. Does Halo 3 ring a bell? Or it could be that the beta is so messed up that they need more time. Either way, it sucks!

I must say im reallly happy... finally managed to get my hands on a unique beta key!!
Download 25 minutes cant wait!....

DX10 development could well be an issue, but I think it may be more to do with testing and development of Nvidia specific algorithms and optimisations than an internal Crytek issue.
