My biggest fear is that this game will be just a mediocre shooter with great graphics.

Like I said in the other topic, I think MS is the source of the delay and I'll quote myself because nobody else wants to.

Crysis has been funded by MS to show the full potential of dx 10, has been hyped to the max and is the main reason for gamers to convert to their crappy Vista I have running too. Halo3 is from MS and everyone has noticed from the big mediahype that ugly dx 8 game can't be overshadowed by the far superior technology (Graphics, decent AI, good MP) of Crysis.

All things considered it's seems the usual demons are behind this again and they are being led by geek boy Bill gates and I am sure that Geekboy from IGN is somehow involved too. Here are the pictures of the 2 geeks:

Its still the fact that Crysis is a PC game and Halo 3 is for X360... and comparing a demo to a full game release is kinda ridiculous, even more so when the said beta will have more features.

This isn't about whether this a full game or demo. It's about attention on forums and in the media. Crysis would steal a lot because it's way better. Hell, comparing it to Halo 1 might be justified, but comparing it to Halo 3 is a big insult for a superior game on all fronts. It would also mean that MS would have to focus on 2 fronts. First on getting enough attention on Halo 3 which is being critiqued for being ugly and short and like Halo 2 not even scratching the surface of the original. They need that game to gain momentum and overtake the Wii which is in first place right now by a 680.000 margin and growing and they also need to have better hardware sales figures then the figures of the new PSP slim which has been released at the same time and is up to 130.000 units sold in Japan alone on day one with US and world figures to follow. Having their biggest competitor sell more consoles (even if it's a handheld) would be a huge blow and the press would dive on top of it. "even halo can't stop the competition now", that's the message it would spell out. With no real aaa titles coming anymore within the next few months and the competition of the PC/MAC, PS2/3/P Wii,DS building up momentum MS needs to focus all of it's arrows on Halo3. Having the game all over the warezsites doesn't help it's cause either


Then they would also need to focus on Crysis, a game they have used as a dx10 billboard from day one and just the demo alone should convince people to upgrade. Vista was supposed to get a lot of people to upgrade their PC's and so far MS hasn't been able to full fill that promise and hardware producers are not happy about that. Crysis needs to get full attention and having the demo come out at the same time as their other big release would confuse customers.

Crysis rox, love the gameplay and graphic, but needs lot of performance tuning.
Running 3-25 fps on my system no matter if i put it low or high.
If they fix it in demo or full game, i will be sold :francesco:

Yeah, for my system it would be a good test for my pc as well. The Bioshock demo ran quite well on medium graphics, let's see how that Crysis sp demo will do.
Yes, the BioShock demo ran on my middle class system, on medium graphics. I guess that the combination of AMD Athlon64 (no front side bus inside, unlike Intel powered products) and good old Windows XP has a positive effect on game performance.

Yah maybe releasing H3 on the same day as Crysis demo was not the right idea =/

Sounds like they need to send me a beta key. If my QX6700 and (2) 8800 GTX's
won't run it at Max Details nothing will that's out right now. Sounds like I need to
get a valid crysis email address to give these guy's some proper guidence :-)

Beta wont let you set graphics to Very High.... hopefully the SP demo will

Very High setting is not selectable in the BETA because enabling the options turns on the DirectX10 enhancements and these are not included in the BETA release. The official singleplayer demo version however will support all rendering options.
