Lair Reviewer's guide

So, Sony's flagship PS3 game has failed in spectacular fashion. Typical of Sony's arrogance and condescending attitude toward the gaming community they have actually sent out guides to reviewers, because reviewers obviously don't know how to review games without Sony's assistance

I want to know what's in that guide! Someone around here has seen it, let's hear it!

Killzone 2 is Sony's flagship along with Gran turismo and Littlebigplanet. Shame the game is a disappointment though

Boy, people who look like that nerd in the picture sure make me feel ashamed of being a gamer. No wonder Sony is condecending towards that guy I don't wanna be linked to these types of losers, I have no issues with getting women or wearing half decent clothes. Why do these types always do and are they letting the lack of sex in their life temper with their grades?

Also, didn't Rockstar once threaten reviewers that if it games would be rated below 50 points, the website wouldn't get any more review games?

Edit: for the reviewers sake, lets hope this guide contains some fashion tips and general points on how to pick up women

Edit 2: the manual they send contains instructions taken from the retail manual, 6 pages on how to control the dragon and how to maximise kills with tips. nothing out of the ordinary. I told you the guy had sexual issues and this was his way of blowing off steam

Factor 5 might of well just slapped on some dragons 2 Rouge Squadron and it would have run better at least it would have had an analog control setup, so I don't have to be "gentle" flying my bad ass tough dragon.

Funny... The PS3 flagship game always seems to be the game that will be coming out soon. First it was Resistance: Fall of Man, which got ignored, then it was Lair.. which by all accounts is awful. Was there even an exclusive release in between those 2?

Now I hear its 3 games that won't come out 'til next year. Anybody else see a pattern here?

Sony had to make a stock offer to raise money to keep the Playstation division alive, so I'm starting to think they are headed down the same road Sega went.

Resistance was their launch game and did rather fine for a launch. The three flagships have been announced at that time, you just haven't been informed properly.

The stock offer they made was to finance the purchase of a new factory to produce more Bravia tv's. Not for the PS3. If you are interested in any company or console is going down the road of Sega, you might want to check what the shareholders had to say about the 6 billion loss that MS made on the 360 and how much interest there is in making another moneyloss there.

Sony is doing great with PS2 and PSP so no worries there anymore after the first loss on the PS3 which has gone now

Sony is not "Doing fine" with the PSP and PS2. The PS2 is one of their sales leaders. Having a console that has no marketing or new game production outselling your lead console is really the whole story. Sony's Playstation division is in serious trouble here.

And if what you are telling me about them staking their claim on these 3 titles being their console sellers, then they really missed the bus with not getting them out the door until almost a full year after the console's release. Not to mention they are going into another Christmas season being out in the cold with sales, meaning they fall further behind in the race to get the install base in place.

Personally, I think they are already past the point of no return, and the PS3 is currently undergoing its death rattle.

It's an interesting strategy to blatantly condescend to someone that has the power to make or break a good portion of your game sales.

No, that was corrected afterwards. Wrong news brought to life by a 360 fanboy site. Sony purchased a factory together with Toshiba and they are both producing their lcd screens there (yes, the same Toshiba they are at hd war with)

The PS2 is outselling the PS3 because it's cheap and the number of games are awesome and well priced these days. Just for reference, even without all the cool games you are supposedly missing the ps3's launch data is exactly aligned with the 360's.Linky (they are so perfectly aligned the blue and green lines are basicly on top of each other)

The PSP figures are excellent and the new slim package is making a huge sales boost on a hand-held I personally had given up ages ago. For reverence, the psp has sold more units then the original xbox

Didn't gears of war, MS's killer title get released a full year after the release of the 360's and Halo still isn't released. Sony hasn't fallen behind in the race yet as the figures describe so I have no worries of them falling behind. If you want to cast doom on a console you might wan't to check out the lighted by the tree red lights of death 360, that one is a sure bet unless you think the shareholders are going to agree to making another money losing product soon.

Edit: actually review don't affect sales that much in the gaming world. Just 2-3%, not more. Gamers buy out of emotion and the quality of trailers affect them way more then a review does. Also, trusting a review from IGN is idiotic and especially when it's written by the posterboy for geekyness.

So if you don't trust IGN, you should take a look at the other critics:

Look, this is cut and dried, Sony is subsidising the PS3 division with a stock offering. You can deny it all you want.
