The THPG demo is supposed to be on XBL today, I am guessing after the downtime is over. Do you think TH will beat skate or do you think they are on two different levels?

My vote would have to go to two different levels as skate is more technical and TH is going for the arcady feel. I loooove the skate demo so, TH better bring something great to beat that.

ya never know TH has been the same for so many different ones ya sure they give new maps and characters and even throw in a wacky and crasy thing to do in game but its all basically the same with them, skate, get points, collect items, grind rails, jsut to unlock levels and continue more, mind u some of their new ones have not been bad so if they can manage to step it up a notch i think it might be a good match between the two

So far, it is not that bad!! I really like the rigger part. The one reallllly bad thing about the demo is that it is timed for 10 minutes. This reallllly blows as you cant really get a feel for it within the time limit. And since you are limited to the things you can do and where you can go, a time limit this small is just retarded. Ill write more about it later

I thought about writing a demo review for THPG but, I decided against it as the demo is timed for ten lousy minutes and you are pretty limited.

I really tried getting into the demo but just couldn't! I played it about 10 or 15 times hoping that I could get into but I just can't! As I may have mentioned, the ten minute limit is just horrid as it limits your ability to do anything worth while. The demo itself is set in Philly, a limited part of it, and lets you play what I assume are the first three missions in all the modes: Career, Hardcore, and rigger. Rigger is essentially what lets you transform the landscape by adding quarter pipes, kick ramps, and rails to damn near anywhere in the demo level. This was what I spent most of my time doing. The career introduces you to nail the grab and the hardcore gives you the aggro kick. This allows you to pump at a faster speed and thereby giving you more air and distance.

There is also some challenges in the demo such as skate a line, grind, and wallplant. When you complete these in their varios stages, am, pro, and sick, you get money and skill points however, this does you no good in teh demo cause you can't use them. There is also some previews of how the skate park editor and other things in there but, they are just little movies.

For the most part, THPG plays the same way that P8 does so you will have no problem in the transition. One of the things I like, aside from the rigger part, is how the balance meter has changed. It is no longer on top, instead, it is a semi circle around your skater making it much easier to watch.

I really don't want to rate the demo because it is just not that good and I am hoping the full game is much better. There isnt really much to do or anywhere to go and the time limit just kills me. I am very hopeful that the full game will bring more to the table because if it doesn't, skate is going to kill it!

It was a lot of meh. Visually it have been improved a bit, but probably the only part I liked was the slowmo moves, beyond that it wasn't that great. THUG was probably my favorite out of the series.

What kills me about the THPG demo is they knew that skate was getting hyped! Why wouldn't they put out a demo that showed off what TH is all about instead of some half assed 10 min demo? Unless of course, that is what the game is..
