As I scoured the web for game news this morning, I ran across this. Apparently this naughty little store in Norway broke the Halo 3 street date by almost two weeks and sold at least two copies!!

So, if any of you forumites live in Norway, go get a couple copies and send one to your favorite monkey! (that would be me!)

It appears a copy of the game also already landed in the warezscene and is about to be released within a few hours, read that in one of the comments on that link you gave. EDIT: they deleted that comment already. The fact that it already leaked onto these sites is going to make a huge dent into MS's expected game sales for what is going to be the biggest title this year and a way for ms to get some money back on the huge loss it made on it's console.

This mess up has got to be the biggest in the history of the 360 and even lets their huge failure rate look like a minor inconvenience. Tons of people who really want to play the hyped game will now flash their console and download this game from some torrentsite and will most likely download more games in the future instead of buying them which will set MS back ages. Who the hell came up with the brilliant idea to ship units of the game 2 weeks before rleease anyway, stupid stupid stupid and I love it.

Gna gna, I just love Norway

They usually ship the games 1 or 2 weeks before releases for big games, like halo 3 that are to be released world wide on a certain date. Other wise some stores wouldnt be able to release it on that day because it may not have arrived yet. And plus this sort of thing has happened with practically every major release that I can remember.

According to a Norwegian podcast they sold five copies of it, and Expert has been trying to get in touch with the customers trying to get them to keep quiet about it until the official release date.

I'm sure that will be effective.

What a shocking development, Gazz is wrong, as usual.

Microsoft has just sent word that its flagship soldier Master Chief has come back from the battlefield with $170 million dollars in the first 24 hours of Halo 3 deployment in the United States. As noted, this would mark the biggest day in US entertainment history, beating out Spider-Man 3 and all Harry Potters (of course, the price of entry for those events were a lot less, but that's a technicality when it comes to record books).

According to the press release, September 25 was also Xbox Live's most active day so far, thanks in no small part to one million online Halo 3 players. Bundled with every copy of Halo 3 was a free 48 hour trial, so we're interested in seeing how many people tomorrow decide to pay the Gold fee and keep on fragging.

Because MC stands for More Cash so it is just a given for him to have the dolla signs in his eyes

No, I am not. This game is hardly making a dime in profit. The media offensive (or Blitz as you called it, you really can't turn on your tv or radio here without seeing those cheap rubber dolls) is 100 million worldwide alone, you might say that 170 million beats that but that's not net profit. Only 10% of any game in general is profit, that makes 17 million. I am not sure about the taxrates in the us but they surely take a few million away from that. All in all Halo isn't profitable by a long shot and MS even lost another big exclusive game this week which has been overlooked by many because of the halo hype. Project Gotham racing 4 will be the last exclusive for them.

Once again your numbers don't add up Bucky, please don't bother wasting your time trying to discredit me with poor info again. MS fanboy
