looking for a game

I'm first time here, I came because I'm searching for a game, I played it long time ago, and now I would really like to play it again,but I don't remember the name of the game and I don't have it at home anymore. Anyway any help would be great!!!
it's kind of space game, there are many species, and every specie has its own planets,between stars system you can travel through black holes with a ship. when you enter an orbit of a planet you can do terraforming. there's another feature I really liked you can choose the way people on the planet develop (from first religion to space ships and other stuff). I would really like to play that game again, please, help me! thank you all in advance, all I need is the name

Im sorry but i cant help you on the name of the game, but am sure someone else should be able to. :trout:

it sounds like a mix between: Freelancer - Sim City 4 - The Sims -Space Raiders.

Sounds like Alpha Centauri to me, possibly Outpost 1 or 2, or Master of Orion.

thank you all for your help, but those games you mentioned weren't the one I played, I played it on my old pentium 166, and there was a map with stars that were connected with lines, and there were lot of species, with strange but nice names

Might be the ORIGINAL Galactic Civilizations? I think it did make an appeareance on the PC...

Star Control was awesome, but i don't think you could terraform planets, and i know it didn't touch on religion. Ascendancy maybe?
