GM Owns A PS3

Yep, I finally got my hands on my new PS3 on Monday (My 30th Birthday!)â€¦

I didnâ€™t get my copy of F1 2007 as I asked, but I got Assassinâ€™s Creed and Guitar Hero III with the guitar! I have had so much fun with Guitar Hero III, but am disappointed with the poor framerate of Assassinâ€™s Creed. It looks awesome though and running around the rooftops of Damascus is a lot of fun.

Someone mentioned that F1 is available online, but I canâ€™t seem to find much in the SONY Online store. Is there more to it than meets the eye or is there really only a few FREE things on there? I managed to get GT Prologue, but that is more of a one track demo than anything else...

I don't have Assasins creed myself, but I have heard it's pretty bugfilled at this point on both PS3 ands 360. Probably one of those games that had to be released before Christmas for profit, expect a patch soon. GT5 prologue isn't released in Europe yet so unless you made a Japanese account (that's possible) you just got the one track hd demo (this one). The full prologue game will be released in a month or so and will feature online racing so I can whoop your ass. It's supposed to be able to have driverteams so me and a mate will start Gazz racing, if it allows more the 2 drivers then you are welcome to join.

Never heard of F1 being available online. Don't forget to get Warhawk (be careful not to select the old PS1 version, a friend of mine did that the freaking idiot), it's a blast to play online

Get the Uncharted demo, it's one of those games that reminds you of Indiana Jones, even if you switch it off after playing it for 5 minutes you'd still have that feeling for a while

The whole network is completely free. Both Sony and Nintendo got that right and showed love to their customers and we should love them back for that

I heard that Xbox live couldn't even handle the pressure of all the people logging in during Christmas (link) and idiots even pay for that. I love how both Sony and Nintendo put their customers at gold status because they matter to them instead of charging money for that. Being called a silver member after paying hundreds of dollars for your console must be so degrading

Yeah I appreciate the free online service and is one of the reasons why I picked up the PS3 instead of the 360 elite + HD-DVD combo.

I will go out and buy F1 on the weekend as I really want to play it sooo bad. I should get my HDMI cable delivered this morning as I did not want to pay Â£30 for the one in my local electronics store. 30 quid for a cable is complete madness!

Yeah I had one, but I gave it to my brother to take to Iraq so him and his army buds could play soldiers when off duty. Twas a 20GB one and lost its life in a mortar attack in Basra! The money I got for it helped pay for my 8800GTX.

If you make a US account (if you live in Europe, or European account if you live in US) and Japanese account so you can get Kane and Lynch demo and The Club and the other stuff (GT5 Prologue demo). I would recommend Stardust HD and Every Day Shooter, Tekken DR online is not bad either, and so is Warhawk.

Ya it twas degrading to such a point when I got a replacement shitbox360 after the old one got ring sting I did not bother to shell out $100 to play the games online, I already spent the $100 to buy the game (PGR4 - great game btw) & did not want to be a Live whore anymore.

I am getting a PS3 solely because of GT5 (& that the cost of online play is incorporated into the games)

Q1: How much quieter is the PS3 compared to the 360

Q2: Are the load times any quicker or are they about the same as the 360

Q3: Can I surf GH on the PS3

Q4: Will my G25 have drivers pre-installed on the PS3 or will I have to dl the drivers

Q5: Why is it that MS are a bunch of nescient twats hell bent on releasing dodgy goods plus backwards OS's at the same time charging an arm and a leg to any unsuspecting hominidae with to many bananas.

Give or take a second or 2. No clue actually, depends on the game. Putting it on your harddrive will drasticly improve loading times and then it will beat the crap out of the 360.

Yes, it has it's own browser. If you want to you could even install Linux on it making the options pretty unlimited even.
