Still, the game is ok I guess.
I have to correct you on this. You are so far from the truth it's not even funny. First off it's not just a sport, people hunt for food as well. I'm a bowhunter(the most challenging way to hunt by the way) and I'm not in my 40s, I'm only 23 and I don't have a beer belly. There are 12 year old girls out there that hunt. I've even seen this myself. I've also seen people hunt lion, cougars, buffalo, and even elephants with bows as well. The sport of hunting is very important to the wildlife and animal conservation. Here in massachusetts they are over-populating there are alot of them dying of starvation because there is not enough vegatation out there for them. Not to mention hunters bring 200 million dollars to the wildlife every year to the U.S and Africa. I just think you should get all the facts before you go and judge the whole sport.

Oh, and deer are not an animal that does no one any harm. Believe it or not, deer are very territorial animals and they kill people every year and destroy alot of farmers crops. Also, no offense but, judging by the way you talk about hunting, I dought very much that you have ever accually done it a few times. I think you only said that just to add to your defense of your argument.

I've been known to go Hunting myself. But I live in the Deep Woods. Not Massachusetts, You have Boston and a park. Not much more. I hope you actually hunt in Pennsylannia.

As for a game. How simple is Deer Hunter. You need to expand to Monsters and Zombies. A real game will actually sharpen your reflexes and help you progess into your real-life hobby.

I have seen a lot on Discovery Channel, Animal Planet etc, that most Americans do not understand that they should stay on the roads and paths. They just walk were they want, annoying the wildlife and dropping litter everywere. If they took more care there is no animal to blame, messing with lynxes, cougars etc. is simply asking for trouble. And male deers can be a nuissance, I know that, but only if they see you as a threat. So just stay out of their territory, just like they stay out of our's.

And hunting elephants with bows is not a good example, since ivory-hunters in Africa usually use shotguns. A bow, not even a crossbow or English longbow can penetrate the elephant's body lethally in a few shots. And a lion is a protected animal.

Oh and dying of starvation is only natural, the corpses will be food for other lifeforms. Do not be such a fool, the idea of humans being "God's sheepdogs" is very oldfashioned and so far from the truth that even priests stopped believing in it. Ever heard from Charles Darwin, and things like "natural selection" and "survival of the fittest"?

And a lot of hunters (not all though) actually are like Gazz putted it. At least here in Europe, our idea of how the avarage hunter looks like, is like that.

So, you say you get your information from animal planet? Hmmm... and your supposed to be an expert about hunting? Everything you said just shows your ignorance on the great sport of hunting. And as far as going near roades and littering goes, no hunter I've ever met has littered in the wildlife and we have laws about hunting to close to the road and near homes. Nobody has ever had the respect to the wildlife as much as hunters do or donated anywhere near as much money as hunters have here in america. Sport hunting in Africa brings $200 million a year to the african wildlife and feeds the african people. starvation is a slow painfull death to the animals. A bullet or arrow is a much more humane death.

We also don't have to go into the wildlife to make deer become a pest! They are over-populating and are coming into urban environments and destroying our crops because the wild can't contain them. Oh and don't try to bring religion into it because I've ask every priest I've ever met what they thought of hunting and they said that there is nothing wrong with sport hunting and that they believe it does alot of good for animal conservation!

Do some actual research rather than get your answers from Discovery Channel, Animal Planet etc.!

I am so done with this forum and site! So, if you respond I'm not going to see it or respond to it. Your responses to the REAL sport of hunting wouldn't make any sense anyways. You people sound like those peta asswholes that make up blatant lies to end hunting. I'm off to chat with real people who acually know what the fuck they are talking about and acually make sense.

Well AmericanHunter1428, it seems that not many people here are hunters. That's how things go, deal with it.

I have to disagree. Hunting use to be a Way of Life, now it is just a Sport. I hunt, and I feel better about it than shopping at the Meat Market. I do live in the Woods (Deep Woods as in not the City or Suburbs) and it takes some actual skill to shoot something. It's not as easy as popping a cap into your Hoe on the street corner. I know Hunters that spend close to $5000 a year just to get out in Nature and try to hunt something. Will I call them Sportsmen, maybe when they actually see something to shoot at.

I'll end it with this. That Hamburger your eating was a cow that had no chance at all. The Wildlife has a Sporting Chance, at least where I live. They can run for Miles and never see a Fence, and Wildlife doesn't trust Man, "The Predator", like the cows do. Make another run to the refrigerator and think about what your eating.

Bullshit! It has never been a sport. Back in the days of Bucky Prime they hunt for survival. Now they hunt for fun and show off. Where does the sport comes in slaybabe?

Sport (sport) n. [<DISPORT] 1. any recreational activity; specif.. a game, competition, etc. requiring bodily exertion.

And not everyone hunts for fun and show off. But isn't that what other sports do. They play for fun and show off.
