Part 2, one year later, or something ![]() Cid "dies". Celes tries to kill herself, but sees that a bird carries something that Bob once wore. He figures he's still alive and goes to explore. The greater part of the "world of ruin" part is about finding the remaining party members, and getting to Cefka. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next we go to some ancient castle. First, flashback time. ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() Here we are, inside Cayenne's mind, currently invaded by some monster (no idea). We need to get them out, and there's a bit of a puzzle element to it. No crying babies though. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (He wasn't so tough) ![]() When we finally finished up the side quests we headed for Cefca's castle. I forgot to stock up on potions and tents (used at sparkling save points and regenerates hp/mp for the entire party), but in the end I had just enough. This place has a lot of rooms, a lot of conveyor belts, and a whole lot of monsters. At the beginning you divide up the gang (of 13) into three groups of four. Up until then I had pretty much been playing using maybe five or six characters who had gotten pretty powerful, at the expense of the other guys staying rather weak. Fortunately there's a "dinosaur forest" on an island where I brought some of the weak characters to build up hp, mp, spells, and so on. It took a few hours, but probably only a quarter of the time it would've taken elsewhere. When entering Cefca's tower the lowest character was level 40, at about 30 hours of play time. The highest (Amb of course) was 62, and ended up being the main damage dealer. Still, thanks to certain items the magic users could deal pretty solid damage as well. ![]() The tower looks a lot like the Majitek factory from a while ago. Here the groups had to work together to open the middle door. The middle party would eventually go upstairs and push down the 4t weight so the door would stay open and the other groups could get in. ![]() The eight dragons drop fairly decent weapons and espers. The last one dropped an esper called Jihad of all things. Questionable fansub translation ahoy! ![]() The first, ![]() second, ![]() and third of the statues. Medium difficulty.

![]() Finally, Final Fantasy final boss time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'll admit he looks tougher up close. ![]() ![]() It's really three plus one part, but I forgot to get a pic of the second part. ![]() ![]() Be gone! ![]() Thoughts about the game From what I've gathered, when you ask Final Fantasy veterans what their favorite is in many cases they'll reply with FF6. Those who started with FF7 usually choose that one as their favorite, and I guess I'll see why in a few weeks. As far as graphics, audio and gameplay polish I'll agree that this is the best one so far. It doesn't innovate TOO much in terms of gameplay, but from the very beginning you can tell a whole lot of work and care went into this game. The storyline is really solid during the "world of balance" part, but in my opinion the timing isn't always ideal during the second "world of ruin" part. This was also why I didn't take that many screenshots. You're just travelling to and fro, doing relatively small tasks. In my opinion FF5 had a better build up to the final boss. It could be because I had leveled up more in this game, and didn't have that hard a time. There weren't any "holy shit it just wiped out my entire party in one attack"-moments, though it did use a spell that reduced the hp of most party members to one. Can't out-level that one. Still, it's a decent battle and the ending is nice and long (though a little boring). If you're thinking about playing the game I'd recommend checking out GameFAQs: Final Fantasy III (SNES) FAQ/Walkthrough by Super Slash and RPGClassics.com - FF6 - "Son of a Submariner"

Cheers buddy
Just need to figure out a non annoying way of taking screenshots when I start on the ps1 titles. There is a pc version of ff7, but quite a few people run into trouble even with the XP patch. Would suck to get 15 hours in and just be completely stuck.
