Ok so some of you probably remember that I never actually did finish FFIV before the summer holiday. Well today I did. It took a little while to remember where I was and how things worked, but to recap a little we had just been kicking butt on the moon, gotten a bunch of crystals, and were heading towards the moon core.

Getting there wasn't super exciting, but at least it meant a change of scenery. By the way, sorry about the quality of the screenshots. The app messed up and gave me lower res images, which I had to increase in Photoshop. Still, you can sort of make out what's going on.

Before facing the final boss you can fight a bunch of minibosses that protect the epic weapons that we know from the previous games, like Ragnarok, Masamune, Holy Lance, and so on.

These guys started showing up, casting libra to find HP and weaknesses. Guess I'm getting closer.

Moon-guy and the ex-bad guy kicking some butt.

Zemus' older brother pops out of nowhere.

And he doesn't die as easily.

Golbeze gives us a crystal

Which when used turns Zeromus into his true form, where he can be injured.

And this is what he looks like. The fight itself is fairly easy, and without too many surprises. He casts moderately strong / really strong attacks, but with cure4 (the strongest healing spell) and life2 (resurrect at full hp) they're not too crazy.

And this is what he looks like when he blows up. The ending is pretty boring, just so you know.
Thoughts about the game:
The first of the SNES games, and probably a pretty huge deal when it came out. The story is nice and FF-y, and the game mechanics work well. You don't have to micro manage too much in this game, though some grinding will probably be needed here and there. It took me a bit over 30 hours from start to finish, and if you haven't played it be sure to check it out on DS. The graphics and audio are obviously inferior to FFV and VI, but still, not bad at all.
PS: I have FFVII running and working well. Look for an update reasonably soon
