Interman's Final Fantasy extravaganza

We place the keystone, and get teleported in.


Not what I expected.


Just some huge rolling boulders.

Seph talks some more.

















He takes off, and this thing shows up. After getting rid of it you get the Bahamut materia, which as we know from previous games is pretty sweet.


This might be confusing, but the temple itself is black materia, which Sephiroth wants. In order to make it portable you need to shrink it, from the inside. We got the spy dude to do it, since he was being controlled remotely anyway.


Sephiroth shows up, again, mind controls Cloud


and this is what happens.


Aeris takes off, trying to sort things out on her own.





It turned out to be a dream, but it sort of happened anyway.


The obvious next destination was back to the sleeping forest, where we chatted with some guys who told us that we could probably get a lunar harp if we paid them to do some digging. In case you've forgotten a lunar harp is needed to awaken the forest and get to the town of the ancients. The digging part is sort of annoying because you have to place a bunch of guys around the site, blow up some kind of explosive, then the guys will face in the direction of the harp, and you have to "triangulate the signal".

Tomorrow I'll post what's arguably the scene that most people remember from the game.

Here we've made it to some snowy town.


These guys again


A kid gave us his snowboard, so now it's minigame time





From here we navigated the many paths using a map we got from the lodge.








This guy gives us some tips on how to get up this icy mountain where I had to rapidly press the square button to keep warm.


But it was worth it

Once again Sephiroth takes off and leaves us to fight this thing.





Suddenly we appear in Nibelheim again





It's a shame it didn't capture all the screens I took here, because Sephiroth basically explains that you too are a "fabricated" human, though considered a failure by the scientist. Because of that you weren't given a number.











This is apparently what you used to look like, or something. Cloud and Tifa didn't believe him, but deep down they probably did.





Here we've made it to yet another place, where the real (?) Sephiroth is kept, and not just the image of him, or something.





And here he combines with the black materia - not good.


We take off in a hurry


And a huge monster named Weapon appears

Junon fires up its canons.











Tifa was captured, and had actually just escaped a death sentence when Weapon used his laser to make way for her. Makes you wonder why...











And we're back at not knowing where to go. Fortunately now that we have a plane there's only a few dots on the map that we haven't been to, which should narrow the search down.


Turned out he was down south.
