I have FF1 for the psp now, better graphics, sounds and has the fix for multiple people attacking one enemy to attack the following one when that one is dead.

* At about half-way through the game opens up in a pretty interesting way. You're basically able to get to a lot of new locations, and you can even decide the order of places to visit - a neat thing considering it's an ancient game.
* Once again I'm farming for experience and money. The walkthrough warns me of an ice cave, telling me to amongst other things get 99 health potions. So far I've never needed more than 30, so this should be interesting. Oh yeah, and you have to press the A button three times for each potion.
* Farming is going great because I found some gloves that when used in combat fire off the lightning 2 spell (no limit to the number of uses), which is pretty solid as an AoE attack against giants (who give tons of exp and money). I can just stock up on health potions, head to the giants area, and not have to go back to town for ages. Overpowered items are sweet.

* This picture is actually from last night, and shows one of the things I REALLY enjoyed getting - an airship. Now I can move really, really fast, and not have to worry about random encounters.
* I've proven my courage to the dragon king, and have been rewarded with upgrades to prestiege classes. White/Red mage - White/Red wizard, Black Belt - Master, Fighter - Knight. What this means is that more spells are available, and I'm just more powerful in general.
* I've reached a place called Gaia, which basically sells endgame spells and items. They're ridiculously expensive, but because of items called ProRings (which makes one-shot-kill spells useless on me) I can farm the boss in the ice cave over and over, giving me lots of experience and gold. I'll have those spells in no time.
* I'm kicking butt now. Just got the third out of four orbs. I should be done pretty soon.

* Some of the bosses look pretty good considering it's on the NES.

* I rescued a mermaid, and she gave me a u-boat as thanks.

* SCARY

would really not have expected such RPG depth in a nes game, what "size" is the cartridge memory?
