Went through the cave, chatted with some guys, went to a mountain, and ran into this guy

Amb finished him off with a special ability where you select deathblow from the menu, and input a key combination (left, right, left, a).

Next we made it to a cave that belongs to the resistance movement. They got introduced to Mary, and she agreed to help out.

A little later the game lets you choose the order of the next few hours. I started off with Bob, whose scenario begins in South Figaro. You're being chased by the imperial guards, since you are after all a pretty notorious thief.

To succeed you have to steal clothes off merchants and guards, get an old guy drunk to have him reveal a secret path, and make fight a bunch of guys.

Continued

And here we are at the engine room. Went inside, read the instructions, flipped some switches, and went outside to turn off the main switch - coincidentally at the very front of the train.

Never fought a train in an RPG before

The train sets us off, and the samurai sees his wife and daughter get on the train. He's wasn't able to save them, but somehow I'm guessing we'll see them again.

The assassin from before (the third party member) heads off on his own for a while, so now it's just Amb and the samurai. In order to progress we had to jump off.

A kid named Gau gets us on shore, but he's afraid and runs off. On the way to Mobliz we meet him several times while fighting mobs. He tells us to get lost, and that this is his place. Not sure what his problem is, so we chase him off.

Yay, a town. We'll see what happens later.

Nice, the new DS version looks like a pretty lazy port though. I'll have to play one version either way, since I never actually finished it back in the day. Made it to some sewers or something and got stuck.
