I agree Resolver1. There are more issues than just piracy but they are all contributing to what this list shows.

As for C & C, I never really talk about other games in any way that can be construed as promoting our games (by making comments about other games). So I'm going to skip over the first part of your question.

It is funny that you mention EA though because I just had the opportunity to meet some of the most high level people at EA. Basically the top brass of EA in Europe. I have to say that even I was surprised at how clued in they are to gaming. The conversations that people have here about games (popularity of RTSs etc.) are exactly the same kinds of conversations we had together. They really know their stuff and are not out of touch at all with what different kinds of gamers want. I can be a little cynical myself sometimes and see making games as a business (which it is) where you need success to survive. I thought that the conversations we had would be more business focused but they weren't. They were all about gaming. We talked about different titles, how hardcore they were, what other titles we compete with etc. All good stuff.

As for where we are now, we're really mostly working on improving the game by addressing bugs etc.

I thought someone would say that. I just thought that I should share with you all the fact that these guys are not as out of touch with gaming as most people would think... ;

Some people are. I recently spoke with the games division manager of Microsoft Europe and he had never heard of Gamershell.com. The worlds biggest free download site and 4th biggest gaming website in the world and a manager that never heard of GH. MS is so extremely out of touch with gaming it's not funny anymore.

I'm sure there are some folks who are out of touch and shouldn't be.

By the way, who are the first three biggest gaming websites?

IGN, Gamespot and Gamespy. They have massive pr departments since they charge people for mediocre feautures like biased reviews payed for by the publishers. GH can never compete with such massive pr as they have.

No one is asking you to promote any games, the general question was about RTS on the console and your opinion of how well some of them are doing and if there is any incentive to head in that direction. I used to play RTS games on PS1: Red Alert, KKND, Warcraft, War Games, Warzone 2100 just to name a few.

You couldn't have said it any better BC. The game makers want to try to make games for the PC die and go console only due to the fact there are so many variables when it comes to making games for the PC. There are so many different configurations, chips, mobos, memory, etc etc etc.

Ok. I can answer that as long as it doesn't involve any specific title. I think that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for the one who gets it right with RTSs on consoles. So there is a large incentive to go in that direction but there is also a lot of risk too.
