You can play the Metal Gear Online beta from the 21th of april till the 6th of may. It's available to all Playstation 3 users.

Metal Gear Online will be added to Metal Gear Solid 4.

It can be downloaded in Europe from April 17th. Avaible in the US as a part of a pre order promotion and not as digital download.

i liked Half-Life and all the Metal Gear games.

they seem very in depth and full of unexpected plot twists

No, because you had no interest in the game to begin with. Half Life 2 focuses more on the narrative rather than the story, but it does have a story which is not directly explained.
