Default Fixed a xbox 360

We fixed a dead xbox 360.

It was an old one from around 2005, so even more coolness in that

Pictures:

Fan attached to a battery with paperclips(man i love paperclips, the most important thing that we used to fix this )

Seeing it working, even though you hardly see anything on that crappy tv.

All i can tell right now is that the xbox 360 is in a cardboard box (hence the name xBOX) and running great!

You baked it? Lolz, any standard oven doesn't have the temperature required to make something like that work and if it did everything else would burn before the solders would connect properly enough to make it function for long stretches of time.

250 degress celcius might make a solder reconnect if you use a small object and distribute all the heat to the tip, but not in a unconcentrated room like an oven

Still, nice stuff to try. Still got a new one under warranty? Something you tried to see if it functioned for yourself I hope, in the form of an experiment? If this was actually posted on a 360 website it had to be done by someone who wanted to hurt 360's even more, since reconnecting the same solder twice would only weaken it dramaticly

I removed the clamps with which the cooler was attached to the mobo and used screws with fiber washers and metal washers. Then i let it overheat for 2 mins for it to resolder, i have it working perfectly right now. I will make a new live account so if anyone wants to play.

And alas, pictures are still coming with the whole story, didn't took us a whole day for nothing!

So it's been functioning for a whole day now? Sweet, I should have baked both my 360's when they died and send them back with pie in them. Lemme see the pics!

I don't think they even looked when I sent mine into Microsoft, warranty sticker was gone and I lost 2 of the case screws somewhere =/

I once fixed a lawnmower with my tongue while I was reading a book about advanced astro-physics.

@AKADeadly: Put it in the freezer before turning it on

@ Magus: don't forget to makes some holes, else the change in material won't be an aid

@ Gazz: in that case you should have gone to "Multivlaai" for some Limburgian pie (preferably "rijstevlaai" * ). Maybe a culture shock or so would force Microsoft to make products of acceptible quality

* Unfortunately, I don't know an English equivalent to that word.
