I'd personally suggest RTCW: ET - the great part about it is that the FULL version will be released absolutely free of charge REALLY soon, which means that it's still a full game (better when compared to demo), while still not a retail game (aka you don't need to own a copy, or scavenge CD keys from friends like certain people on those forums I believe do :P ). And the gameplay is really great, I seem to enjoy the game alot, as well as the other guys from our forums that tried it do.

While it WILL be free won't you need RTCW to play it? Like you needed Halflife to play Counterstrike until they offiacially released it.

I agree on the Enemy Territory idea...It'll be a free standalone game (stand-alone...it stands alone...alone...not a mod...alone...As in, you don't need any other games to play it...just "it"...alone...)...Ahem, Right.

A friend of mine has been playing that demo for a while and likes it...He also tells me to get it and play too, but I never do...I dunno, the graphics are old (I'm really into good graphics)...And...That's about it...But, if you guys make a server, I'll make sure to drop by.
