whats the problem??

I have a Inspiron 531 with a 300 watt power supply, 2 hard drives, 2.0ghz athlon 64 x2 3800+ processor, and a BFG 8600GTS video card and I am only getting a score of 6,187 with 3dmark06... I compared to others that were getting scores of 9,000

what could be my problem?

forgot to mention I am running XP, would Vista run games better due to directx 10?

No XP runs 3DMark06 faster. Can you post me some more info about your system. Use my pic as a guide for the info I'm requesting :-)

get latest hardware driver and firmwares/bios updates.
300watt OSU sounds rather weak. maybe not enough juice for the graca and co?

Yeah. Make it at least 450 Watt for a better supply of the power
