sorry for the teaser, couldn't resist

Looks like CDV has some problems with its PR department. After promising the Breed demo in december 2002, they announced that it would be available in March 2003, and yesterday they sent a press release mentioning that the release date would be announced this friday. Of course, we haven't received any press release and there are no announcement on the official site, so a lot of ppl are getting pissed off against them - which is easily understable.

You should check the Breed forum, there are some very funny comments there. Here are a few of them:

yeah, throwing shit at someone else work.

End-User should realize whatever is free, they have no rights to bash. They can't do it, but I would drop the demo completely after seeing similar morons bugging yourself after all the hard work.

After all if they take the delay route they are just fixing something, not waiting and laugh at people.

Ah well...We've had a couple of nice demos recently...And now Vice City is out...Movies...That should keep people busy until the demo of bReed comes out...I'm not in any hurry to get it...

I was lookin forward to that demo too! But hey s*** happens, although I have to say that they shouldn't announce a release\info if they are not going to! Tis just bad publicity

hmmm, I didn't say CDV anywhere on my text.

Anyway I hope it is the publisher doing quality checking rather than the developer.

BUT...

a ) they createb big expectations (made self publicity)

b ) why the f**k is BREED so important? Like Big D. said we had half a dozen major demos last 7 days, looks like an obsession only to me.

The same thing goes with duke nukem forever too. People have been bashing 3d realms for so long. Why not just the cool games that are out now, and when (if) gets released then we can judge whether it's hot or not.

F, it is simply UNETHICAL to do 'PR' for a game in such a way... If you're actually PROMISING something, IMHO you're supposed to do it, or at least tell ppl that it won't happen, either one or the other. They didn't do either. :nxs:

CDV also pushed Neocron too be released way to fast, it should still be in beta.
