Spore is kinda.... overhyped
If spore were a woman, she'd kill my erection. The game hardly lives up to my expectations at best. DRM seem to be one big failure again.

I almost agree here. What really bugs me is that no matter what you do to your creature, it does not seem to have any effect. For example, if you have one or four pairs of legs, you still go the same speed! And why is it the feet you add make the creature faster instead of the legs. I would have thought the legs would have some effect on the speed or jumping ability.
Don't get me wrong here, the editors are just awesome but, where you put what part on anything, whether it be a creature, house, or spaceship, has no bearing at all. Kinda disappointing.
Still enjoy playing though and in my opinion, it deserves no higher than an 8!

I am at tribal stage on my 1st play through and TBH I find it quite boring. It does little more then what Molyneux/Lionhead achieved in Black & White and barely looks any better.
All I seem to do is spend my time looking through the manuals making sure i haven't missed something. Surely it cannot be this easy!?
For me, considering how little I have played so far, I would give it no more than a 7/10. I am hoping I have missed some major component out and that it really is engrossing, non-linear and replayable...

I brought it back to the store, paid a bit extra and reserved Silent Hill 5 for it. Together with BIA: Hells highway, Far cry 2 and the first Syphon filter game I just downloaded from the PSN store I'll be having a busy autumn.
And I know a certain someone who is in both the Battlefield Heroes and Home beta!!!!!!!!

Exactly, I'll be spending my money on other PC games which don't contain oppressive, self accusing DRM features like SecuROM. EA can go fudge themselves.

You know what's funny about the DRM thing is that I just went and checked the torrent sites and found Spore without the DRM. It does seem like you can't go online with it but, it is still there and working perfectly from the comments. What a kick in the balls for legit owners eh? Pirates have no limit as to how many times they can install it and they ones that bought it can only install it three times and have to be on the net to do so. One of these days EA and the rest of them are going to figure out that piracy is not what is hurting their bottom line, it is how they treat the consumer!

Nice, both betas! Post your thoughts on Home as soon as you can!
Might give me a reason to brush the dust off the PS3.

Don't judge the game until you've done the space part. It might not be sins of a solar empire, but it's pretty good
