Yes, 18 GB! Most likely for uncompressed textures, movies and most off all sound. Game will come compressed on a dual layer disc since there are not enough people with Blu ray players yet. Should be one hefty install.

Including the Kingdoms expansion, the required amount of free disk space for Medieval 2 Total War is 20 GB (11 basic + 9 for Kingdoms).
So yeah, 18 is quite a lot but I am not surprised that much

I hope the game will look alot better then, because 18gb is alot for the decent textures the game has :p

i don't thinki it's the quality but rather the amount of the different textures the game has. But why would anyone wanna play GTA IV on PC now. that game is old and crapola

It are simply uncompressed textures. That does not mean they are better by definition. Uncompressed sound however will make a world off difference and one of the things that pisses me off about the console version. Especially since the 360 is responsible for the compressed sound and textures and PS3 owners such as myself and Kamisorix are victims off that.

Still, GTA4 is a good game and many pc owners (that's mainly pirates and a few customers these days) will enjoy it a lot.

The 'mainly pirates and a few customers these days' is a gem of a quote! I mean, we all know that piracy is so damn rampant that it is the reason that PC gaming is dying correct? Seriously here, those ppl that download the game on the torrent sites must be shot and killed because they are the sole reason that PC gaming is slimming. It sure in the hell could'nt be the craptastic copy protection or the fact that the PC port of GTA4 is coming to the PC months after most ppl that want to play have already done so.

I say we blame piracy and the 360 for everything! My ass hurts! I blame the 360 because I sit in front of it all day. I wanted a PS3 but the 360 has better games! I will just blame MS' buttload of money for that. I wanted to buy Spore but it has such a shitty copy protection on it, I don't wanna touch it. I blame piracy! Nevermind the fact that the game was cracked and on torrent sites 4 days before it hit retail!

Even if PC gaming does die, piracy will continue to the consoles and it will be just as easy to do on them as it is the PC because most ppl will have one.

One of these days Gazz, you are going to end up in a looney bin and the only thing you will be able to say is 'MS sucks. Sony is great' over and over.
