Sounds great

PlanetHalflife has posted word from Valve's Eric Johnson who tells us that the Source engine SDK will be released to mod developers before Half-Life 2 hits shelves in order to jumpstart the mod community. Also, it was noted that the Day of Defeat modders are already plugging away on their next version, though they're not yet working with Source.

I think that means that a lot of people need to upgrade their computers. :/
Including myself.
But...

The game is powered by Valve's in-house developed graphics engine, called Source. The specs of the graphics engine sound very impressive, and Half-Life 2 is sure to give Doom 3 a run for its money. Even more impressive is the scalability of this engine - while to take full advantage of it an Athlon 2Ghz with a GeForce 4 will be needed, the game will be able to run on a P3-700 powered by a DX6 compatible video card.
|
How do you think the game will run on the lowest specs?
I doubt that it can run smoothly on a P3-700 with a DX6 compatible video card.

It can certainly run smoothly. The question isn't how will it run, but how will it look?
I certainly wouldn't expect a whole lot from out of that platform

If you are saying lifelike... I think you misread what I am saying.
P700 w/ a Dx6 graphics card <-- it will run smooth on this, but look life-like? Only if you are smoking crack.
