Saints Row 2

Saints Row 2 is due in stores tomorrow, at least for the US, and with any luck, I will have it on Monday. I own the first SR and have had lotsa fun with the game just never really went online with it, however, SR2, from what I have read, will have system link! Ohh the fun I will be having. The MP looks really sweet in SR2. There is a MP mode called MegaMode which basically includes all the modes over the entire city! As long as it comes with system link, I will be playing MegaMode for teh rest of the month and beyond!

If any of you are getting it for the 360, maybe we can play online. I am not opposed to playing online if it is just between friends.

After playing GTA4 and the mercenaries demo, I have had enough off sandbox games for some time. Wake me when LA noir comes around

Good luck playing it though. I'll be busy making BOOBS levels in LBP.

At least, assuming you mean mercenaries 2, your post drew my attention.
Really, after the intro (or halfway, I can't tell for sure) I got a 100% freeze every time. After having to press the reset button 3 times I had enough of it.

According to reviews you did not miss much Richard. Had some issues with the Battlefield 1 and 2 demos back in the day. Aside from that none. Enough bugs in their full games though.

Hmmm I am kinda interested in SR2, but I will want to play it before paying for it. Sandbox games are getting a bit dull and mercs2 was a very, very poor game IMHO. Maybe the sensless violence and grittyness of the subject matter might pull it out of mediocrity.

BTW, Richard are you sure it is the game? More than likely a driver issue if the game launches ok, but fails when initialising the display or menus. Could also be a codec issue if you have installed a codec pack and more than likely that you have changed the default mp3 decoder.

The only codecs I installed are an ogg vorbis codec and the DivX 6 codec. My players use build-in stuff for the rest.
Anyway, I did 2 additional attempts. The second seemed to go fine initially, but I got a "movie" in the main menus during a short afk. And as you probably already guessed, the stuff froze completely.
The first of the two attempts I am talking about froze halway the intro, but I was lucky and could still ctrl+alt+del it. Memory usage was about 2 GB (!) and that is hell much on XP (usually it is 1GB at max afaik).

It is the only recent demo I am having issues with btw, the demos of DMC 4, CoD 4 and Crysis (have) run very well.

Edit: so it is only during movies I got the issues with Merc 2.
