Call of Duty 5: World at War
So, the embargo lifted today on the CoD: WaW beta today which means I can talk about it all I want to! I will be writing up something on it proper but most likely not til I have played it a tad more. If you have some questions about it though, feel free to ask here as some of us lucky staffers here at GH were sent beta codes.

Pc or 360 codes?
Anyway, is it better then the disappointing Call of duty 3? I did like COD: big red one which was theirs too I believe...

It is for the 360 and it was just some of the MP part. Personally, I did not have high hopes for it as I was thinking going to back to the WW2 scene would basically suck! I was wrong. I spent three hours playing the free-for-all mode last night and I have to say, I had a blast. I sucked, but I had fun. I will be trying the other modes out today or tomorrow as I will have Saints Row 2 here in a little bit.
The more I played, the more I wanted to keep playing just to get my rank up because, the higher your rank, the more guns and things you can unlock. Not to mention I really like the custom class option.

Oh no, not another WW2 FPS! I thought CoD4 was magnificant and both SP and MP aspects on all formats were pretty damn near the best of recent note. WW2 is soooo overused. I mean, how many times can you rehash the same Band of Brothers/Saving Private Ryan group FPS formula?
Think I will wait for it on budget or until TPB have enough sources!

I have only played for about three hours thus far. However, the costume you start with blends into the maps very well. You can easily walk by someone that is standing against a wall and not see him until he sticks a knife in your throat. And I think, you can get different outfits. I will have to check on that when I play more today.

Oh man I can't wait to play this. Especially after playing too much COD4, Now we'll have more fun with weapons like Kar98K and stuff, Cod4 was getting pretty lame with all the automatic guns. I just don't like the fact that we have all the same lame perks again. With the rather newbish juggernaut, last stand, martyrdom and stuff I do like deep impact and stopping power with a sniper though, or rather with every weapon i have

The kar98 was a German weapon. I doubt we will be seeing that one in a scenario in the pacific. The Kar is by far the uber coolest and accurate weapon in the new brothers in arms: hell's highway though. Absolutely love it.
