Battlefield 1943

Has anyone tried this game yet? I was going to play it on the 360 as it is my preferred system but, I don't see the need to pay for XBL. Especially since, from all I have read the past couple days, it is damn near impossible to get into a game. You would think that with all the morons handing MS cash, the servers would work perfect and there would be virtually no lag.

I did however, play the demo on the PS3. I played it about 15 minutes before it said my time expired. It is supposed to be a 30 min demo but I guess it starts the time as soon as you install it.

Another thing I didn't care for is having to sign into EA even though I already was signed into PSN. Why does EA insist on doing this crap??? That being said, for the fifteen minutes I did play, I thought it was a lot of fun. I had no trouble getting into a game and there was only one incident of lag.

I have to say, it does take a little bit to get used to the controls after years of playing BF with a keyboard and mouse but, after I got used to it, I had a blast. I am sure my teammates didn't as I constantly died though.

For 15 bucks, I just might have to buy this game for the PS3. Mainly because the online part is free.

Over all, I would say that BF43 is worth the money as long as you get it for the PS3. I'm sure it is worth the money on the 360 as well, as long as you already have a gold membership. Don't count on the demo winning you over though, as it is only 30 minutes and after that, it is basically worthless! I should also mention that if you have a standard TV, it is realllllly hard to read the little crap that shows up in the upper left corner.

On a different subject, anyone know how to hook up the PS3 to a monitor? Very cheaply I might add. I am a po man

That is what I wonder too, when it comes to my Cube. I want to get retro a bit, so it would be nice if I could connect it to a monitor with D-sub and dvi connections only. I got lots of cables and adapters here, but I have not seen the light yet.

Is this out for the PC or just consoles? I have a XBOX360 but hate playing fps titles with a controller.

For now, the PC users are getting screwed yet again as the PC version won't be available til September. I agree with you though, it sucks using the controller for BF. You can do like I am going to do if you buy it for the consoles though and just hook up a keyboard and mouse.

Then again, pc users did recently get the free battlefield heroes game.

Anyway, I already got the game and it's pretty fun. Nothing mind blowing, but just some good old fun. I am pretty amazed at how people manage to take a clip of shots from my carabine and still survive.

The best way to connect your console to a monitor and still get 720, 1080p images is trough this babe: XCM 1080p VGA box (I actually one it myself). Just browse around and also look at ebay and such. You should be able to pick up a cheap version somewhere. Supports Wii, PS3 and 360.

I didn't know that. So you just plug your keyboard and mouse into an XBOX360 or PS3 and it'll work? How about mapping the keys/buttons? Might be worth playing the game on the console if you can do that!

Native mouse/keyboard support is only on the PS3 and then only for some selected games. Not sure about BF1943...

Anyway, the following beauty allows you to use a keyboard and mouse on your 360/PS3: XFPS 3
Don't have that one myself though.

Thanks Gazz. Have you ever used a keyboard and mouse for the PS3? How about Killzone 2?

frag FX works with every game i tried it on so far but it's not the same as actually using a real mouse/key on PC. the only game i know that uses PC mouse n key is UT3 which still sux because the PS3 has that pudding feel to it. i suppose it's crappy translation from analog reading control to direct control.

I got BF43 for XBL and the server issues has been fixed. unfortunitly ALL maps feel the same. Heck they even look the same. the only difference is the map picture when it's loading. But for 800 points it's actually a fun game.

I'm with Kami on this one. Mouse and keyboard should just be seen as an option. Not as something that is similar to how it feels and functions on the pc.

Anyway, keyboards suck penises. Mouses rule, but keyboards are stupid.
