Games...starting a new religion??

I recently sat down and spectated a multiplayer game........thats right i didnt accually play. I felt touched and moved by the movements of people across the world running, jumping, and throwing grenades at each other.So much time spent with each game while thousands upon thousands of fans drool over the release so they can take it home and unwrap its newly covered box and experiance another exciting adventure whether it be bloody,magical, or simulated life. Hours and hours people sit with their games worshiping its new glory and graphics. I personally am a game fanatic from the good old amiga games to the new age games each with its new story and challenges. People praise and worship each game taking in its new life into their own letting the game soak inside of them and satisfy their mind's craving. I skip church and dont read the bible cause i am hooked on games. Day and Night i play the screen sending its warm colors into my mind and letting the adreneline flow. So i state that games are no longer a play thing for u after u get home from church.....it is church......and people are no longer focusing on god because they can act as god through games.or maybe its just me...........

interesting.. I'd go with a good rpg story, like Gothic 2, over the Bible any day. If a game is good enough then I try to really get into it, not just do what the main quest, or mission, tells me to do, but to just explore the world that the designers have created. People spend endless hours improving their skills in shooters, but since they're not exactly worshipping anything I'd have to say the religious aspect resembles buddhism, which is probably the religion I'd go for if I lived in asia or something. Because of my near family's not so strong christian beliefs I've never been a steady church goer, so if I had the choice between religion and games then you can probably guess what I'd pick.

As i find Chruch extremely boring, listening to some kiddy 'fidlin priest read out of some book that was written 1000's of years ago by a set of guys on crack! , Id much rather settle for a game like say Gothic 2 (as interman said), much more sintalating, and probobly more realistic than the bible

Comparing religion to games is a bit far off in my opinion. Although I am not a regualar church goer and I do enjoy my games very much, I don't think comparing religion and games should be in the forum that much as it will most definatley turn into a flame fest

LOL, hehe , well, i beleive it probobly is, atleast in Gothic 2 you can die, and jesus cant, wtf's up with that?!

EDIT: Reminds when i used to play MoH:AA MP Demo with god mode on, i called myself Jesus

I will repeat myself, do not turn this into a religious thread as it will stir up fights. Religion is not something that should be in the main forum. Refering to yourself as "Jesus" is never a good thing

The thread title is 'Faith' and tranquility, and Faith meaning religeon, having Faith in something, and in the context of what he was saying, it was indeed religeon
