Europe screws online gamers

Effective immediately, customers who reside within the European Union will be charged VAT equal to 17.5% of their subscription fees.
To comply with changes in the law in the European Union, EverQuest subscribers who are residents of EU countries will be charged VAT equal to 17.5% of the subscription fees.

These changes require that digital services be taxed at the point of consumption , i.e. in your country of residence. The countries currently covered by this policy are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.

I think this is a good idea for the governments to gain EVEN MORE cash, but this is going to far, and ofcourse i totally disagree.

we europeans are already getting ripped off.

I ordered my radeon 9800 pro in the usa for 365 euro's

When it arrived i had to pay 107 euro TAXES!

Now they want to charge even more?

They have gone too far with this, i demand to lower the EU prices on products, then we won't need to shop in the usa.

Well i was talking to my dad over Msn Messenger, and all he can say is "thats just life, everything gets taxed", now, he lives in Malta, so this aint hapening to him, and Malta arnt in the EU, but they are still considering it, now if the UK get out of the EU, i.e. Referendom (all vote againsed), we wont have this problem of taxing MMO's etc

, so it wont be everything that gets taxed, and the UK's Economy will stay stable, and stay the 4th highest in the world, and they wont have to put tax on P2P's
