After having a "wonderfull day" the kind of they that you come close to cutting youre wrists.....playin' Bloodrayne (TOTAL WASHOUT)......i say to myself....I should go watch some T.V.WHAT DO YOU THINK WAS ON ?
Pro T.V. ....a romanian channel...(YES I am From Romania) had nothing to broadcast .....so they said: what about the gamers.....let's harras them!
So this talk show host starts babling about what gaming can do to you poor precious little/big boy ...or girl...and how a child who spens more than 4 hours a day in front of the computer would never have a normal life and about the psycological hits that his brain indures staying in front of the computer all day.And...what do you know....my mother takes it seriously(she is a shrink...by the way) and NO UPGRADE NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!

Why have a normal life when you can have a virtual one? Tell your mother that people said the samething about TV 30 years ago and 60 years ago they said reading comics would make you stupid.

Heh... recent scientific studies proved that ppl that play computer games have better eye / hand coordination... Try to use that on her... Unless she believes 'knowledgeable' Romanian talk shows more than scientists

I don't think there's such a thing. I'm actually Romanian...Though I live in Canada...And never watch Romanian TV shows...Anyway, I think they all suck.

Now then, yeah, gamers (they were talking about FPS players when they did that little research) so have better reflexes (in games), so better hand-eye coordination...And if you play a game like SS, you'll have very good timing, aiming and prediction also.

Anyway, parents normally believe this crap because of all the idiots in the States who go around shooting people and blaming it on games and TV. (What a load of bullshit) There are a lot more things to do on computer other than playing games and chatting. Try doing some of those other things, showing your mom that you're actually working or doing something useful and she might ease up on you.

(My mom didn't mind me buying a 9800 Pro too much since I love 3D graphics and do 3D modeling (for 2D games and my learning pleasure) and also like to play the latest games, again, mostly for the 3D graphics...I also pay for every piece of hardware I buy myself so I guess that made her mind it even less. :P)
