While browsing through the Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault screenshot archive i came across this one: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/medalofh...089.html?page=1. IF THE SCREENSHOT IS REAL AND NOT FAKE OR TOUCHED UP in photoshop or something, then this is the best looking character i've seen until now, far better then the half life 2 g-man. The skin textures, the teeth, lips, nose, eyes, are extremely well made. Can somebody tell me if the screenshot is actually in-game or is it touched up, or completly fake ?
I personally cannot belive this can run on the quake 3 engine. Is too perfect. I am sorry if the link is from gspot but i cannot see the screenshots on gamershell. I can see the thumbnails but when i click on them the browser loads a banner instead of the big picture. |

Well, the screen might have been retouched but not by gspot at least, since we have the same (in higher res) here
PS: If you can't see screens, it's probably related to your browser, so try to update it if you have an old version or try another one (which one are u currently using?) |

Guys, that's not an in-game screenshot, it's simply taken from a cinematic or it's just some rendering.
As you can plainly see, the model has soft shadows and self-shadowing. Ask yourself this: Does MOH use self-shadowing? (Or does the Quake 3 engine support per-pixel soft shadows?) No, it doesn't. It's just a rendering, not an in-game screenshot. |

That is definetly taken from a movie sequence. No doubt about it. No way it can be in-game screenshot.

John D: I am using Mozilla Firebird v 0.6.
Big D: I also tend to belive that this is just an rendering, because the amount of detail that we see cannot be run on the q3 engine, but, after taking a look at how the water looks, and at the pixel shaders used when shots are firered in the water, i ask myself, if there cand be pixel shaders for bulet-water impact, why can't there be one to simulate self shadowing. Anyway, i really want to know where is this image taken from... it just looks too damn good !!! |

It is, without a dount a pre-renderd animation/picutre, because ther amount of polygons in that model are way way high.
