THOU can't mod your XBOX or I cry

Microsoft acting like a 4 years old kid, I'm astonished... we may retire our console from Australia if they allow people to modify end user their consoles.

Clearly they mean that if you buy an XBOX, you don't own it, it has a MS logo over it and therefore it keeps being their property, and if you try to run linux over it trough a mod-chip, well you're a criminal.

Nice, they already got Lik Sang to remove all the modchips, now they want laws to backstab them... now just an hint... copying games is illegal, modding a console is nowhere close to be against law.

Do you think MS, Sony and Nintendo are sending Developers Consoles to all the people that are going to get a preview copy for an article? No... and guess what... legal preview copy, no legal developer console... what should I do? Skip the preview... sure!

I find it weird... If they don't support modified XBOXes it's already bad enough, meaning if it breaks up you have to buy a new one... Actually sounds like a good marketing strategy not to fight against modchips and hope some ppl will break their XBOX while modding it... But why in the world would you want to withdraw sales from an entire continent and lose sales in the process because modchipping is proven to be legal? WTD...

the pal x-box is a cut down version of the NSTC box anyway.
who care is MS doesn't want to sell it here, I just shows they don't give a ass about their machine. I bet it was just some type of Tax Dodge in the first place for MS anyway.

Gee, maybe MS should just give away all their games just to make you cheap bastards happy. After all, I'm sure profiting from the sale of their games was never their intention.

We all know copying games never hurt anyone? Right Dreamcast?

Dreamcast went out of the market before getting out, Sega knew about it already, and if it was not selfmodded (modded out of the box) it would have not sold even 1 million copies, with completely no third party support.

Saying that piracy killed Dreamcast is a simple lie, I don't think psone didn't suffer from piracy as mush as dc as I barely know someone that didn't modify his psx.

And yes, I agree with HIV 100% here... I don't know a SIMGLE person that didn't mod his psx - yet the death of DC is blamed on piracy? Word.
